Blues and Colours 2017

Blues and colours are the university's annual awards for sporting achievement and this year DUSSC actually won some awards! There were three merits given out to members for their efforts in volunteering and organising the club in the last year - go on yerselves KB Debbie & Zak. Getting an award for her job as secretary wasn't enough for KB whose time spent on the podium for freestyle at SUDS, BUISC & Granite city earned her a colour too. Worth spending all that time working on your 360s ! Last but not least is a huge achievement from Cameron Laws. Out of the whole university, there were four athletes who had competed at a prestigious enough level to earn a full blue this year. Cammy's wins at the boardercross/slalom/rail jams of BUDS, SUDS, SUISC, Granite city over the last few years were more than enough to earn him this award. Unreal effort mate, the club will miss you and your medals next year. The night after the awards was the B&C ball and Logie had the honour of taking 9 of the DUSSC girls out for a dinner and ceilidh. We'd been nominated for the most progressive club award but unfortunately lost out on this one :( It was a 10/10 night and the bugle is still safely in our hands after it. The next ball DUSSC will be going to will be at BUDS 2017 so you've got a while to get excited and find a dress for that one. xoxo
